Last day at Afan :(
After lots of delierations over the beer and curry the night before it was decide to do the wall today. A few of us missed doing it the day before and there was a secton that a few wanted to do again.
We cheated a bit today as it was the last day and drove round the valley and left the cars at the end of the wall trail so no to have to cycle back to the centre.
The start of the wall had a diversion on at present due to harvesting of trees this meant the hardest climb of the weekend I think only 1 person out of the 14 people there making it up in one hit, It wasn't me!
Once at the top of the first nasty climb theres a bit more climbing on fire road but once to the very top there isn't really any climbing on the whole trail.
I had a bit of a fall today on the section know as the "graveyard" least I thinks thats what it was called.
Part of the trail has some big bolders in the trail that the people who done the trail the day before said was almost inpossible to ride. I made a bit of hash of it the first time got on top of the first boulder and got stuck well I couldn't go forwards but managed to fall off the side. A 3 feet drop later a grazed chin, knee and the bike on top of me I had another go a bit more speed this time wham bam thank you mam got right over the whole lot this time, woohooo only the 2 of us done it without putting a foot down.
The last decent on the wall trail was great fun on the top half as it was dry but down a bit lower it got a bit damp in places and very slippery I had a couple of very scary moments only just avoiding a trip via route one down the hill.
A great weekend riding Wales is great fun but think the 7 stanes in scotland still has the numberone spot for me
